|
Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of 3 suspects trying to gain entry to a property via a ground floor back window on Hillrise (near The Meadway) at around 19:00 on the 27th of October. If you saw anything or have any CCTV, please get in touch. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk 25000632662
Report of a residential burglary on Sapcote Road (near Winchester Drive). Incident occurred between 12:30-14:45 on Wednesday 29th of October whilst the residents were out. Back door forced and an untidy search completed, where items of jewellery were taken.
On the 31st of October, there have been multiple other reports of residential burglary in areas such as Marigold Drive, Marlborough Close and Herald Way. It appears the activity occurred between 16:00-21:00. If you saw anything suspicious and have not already spoken to officers, please get in touch. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Properties that look like there is no one in are being targeted. Entry is via back patio doors or windows. Untidy searches are being completed, and jewellery is often the target of these opportunistic crimes.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
Pc Davidson has been completing patrols around the area including visits to Sketchley Primary and Hastings High School, where he has been challenging some of the school parking. Issues seen include pavement parking and parking on/near the Azalea Drive junction. We continue to monitor school areas and ask parents consider the safety of children and other pedestrians, especially around school times.
We have spent a lot of time responding to the above incidents and completing work in the affected areas. Work is ongoing to identify those involved. Please call 999 immediately if you see a crime in progress.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
As burglary reports continue to come in this week, please pop along to the below event.
Just a reminder for Sunday 2nd of November, we will be at the Millennium Hall with our crime prevention items at the Emma Shaw foundation charity indoor Christmas market from 12:00-16:00. Please pop in and take a look, last year was a really good event, lots of stalls. Crime prevention items stall, sold at cost, cash only. Window alarms £3 each, Fence Cactus spikes 10 for £8, Shed padlock alarms £8.50, PIR alarms £6, RFID car wallets £2 each, and much more.
With events such as bonfire night and those of you who may go away over Christmas, PLEASE ensure items such as jewellery and cash are removed. Please use light timers, alarms and ask a trusted neighbour to help make your property look like someone is home.
Thank you and take care.
